Clinical Social Work Supervision

Clinical supervision is a space for educational and professional development.

The Texas board defines clinical supervision as: An interactional professional relationship between a supervisor and a social worker that provides evaluation and direction over the supervisee's practice of clinical social work and promotes continued development of the social worker's knowledge, skills, and abilities to engage in the practice of clinical social work in an ethical and competent manner.

What to expect

Texas Social Work Board requires 100 hours of clinical supervision, 3,000 work hours while under supervision, to be completed in no less than 24 months. Full time employees are required to meet a minimum of 4 hours a month not exceeding 10 hours a month. Part time employees are required to meet a minimum of 2 hours a month not exceeding 10 hours a month. Supervisee's can obtain their supervision individually, in group format, or a combination.

I require my supervisees to carry professional liability insurance and sign a supervision agreement.

Individual Supervision is $100 an hour and Group Supervision is $50 an hour. Group supervision sessions meet on Saturday mornings. Currently all supervision is virtual.
